ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the clinicopathologic features and prognosis of breast mucosa associated lymphoid tissue(MALT) lymphoma. Methods:Clinical data of 8 breast MALT lymphoma patients were retrospectively analyzed at Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital from Jan 1, 2004 to Jan 31, 2017.Results:All were females, median age was 50 years. Tumors were located in the left breast in 3 cases while 5 cases in the right. All tumors were single in the outer-upper 1/4 quadrant of the breast. By Ann Arbor clinical stageⅠ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅳ were 3, 2, 1 and 2, respectively. None of patients had B symptoms. 7 cases underwent surgery. All of the 8 cases received chemotherapy, 6 cases had complete response, one partial response, one with stable in efficacy evaluation. The follow-up time was 2-154 months. The 1, 3, 5-year overall survival rate were 100.0%, 50.0%, 50.0%, median survival time was 144.00 months. The 1-year progress free survival rate was 78.0% and median progress free survival time 28.29 months. Conclusion:Breast MALT is extremely rare without specific clinical features. Almost all are single tumors without B symptom. It′s sensitive to chemotherapy and the patients have fair prognosis.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To investigate the clinical characteristics, therapy modality and prognosis of primary breast diffuse large B-cell lymphoma(PB-DLBCL).@*Methods@#A total of 68 patients with PB-DLBCL treated in Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital were enrolled between January 1, 2004 and January 31, 2017. Clinicopathological data were retrospectively analyzed. 67 patients were female and only one male. The median age was 56 years old. 46 patients had Ann Arbor clinical stageⅠ~Ⅱ disease, and the other 22 were stage Ⅲ~Ⅳ. The patients with and without B symptom were 11 and 57, respectively. Kaplan-Meier method was used for univariate analysis to calculate the 5-year overall survival (OS) rate and 5-year progress-free survival (PFS) rate, compared using the log rank test. Cox regression analysis was used for multivariate analysis.@*Results@#The 1, 3, 5-year OS rate were 84.0%, 78.0% and 73.0%, and 1, 3, 5-year PFS rate were 80.0%, 71.0% and 51.0%, respectively. Univariate analysis indicated that eastern cooperative oncology group (ECOG) score, Ann Arbor clinical stage, international prognostic index (IPI) score, risk stratification, B symptom, β2-microglobulin(β2-MG) level, size of the tumor and cycles of chemotherapy were prognostic factors for OS (all P<0.05), and Ann Arbor clinical stage, IPI score, risk stratification and B symptom were prognostic factors for PFS (all P<0.05). Multivariate analysis indicated that Ann Arbor clinical stage was independent prognostic factor for OS(P=0.029) and B symptom was independent prognostic factor for PFS(P=0.028).@*Conclusions@#Prognosis of PB-DLBCL was relatively good. Ann Arbor clinical stage and B symptom were independent prognostic factors for OS and PFS, respectively.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the effects of rapamycin which is an autophagy inducer and 3-adenine (3-MA) which is an autophagy inhibitor on motor behavior and autophagy related protein LC3 in C57BL/6 mice of Parkinson's disease(PD).Methods 40 C57BL/6 male mice were randomly divided into control group and experimental groups which consist of MPTP model group, rapamycin group and 3-MA group, with 10 in each group.Mice in experimental groups received intraperitoneal injection with MPTP to establish PD models, and mice in control group received intraperitoneal injection with the same amount of saline solution for 1 week.Mice in rapamycin group received intraperitoneal injection with rapamycin and mice in 3-MA group received intraperitoneal injection with 3-MA at the same time when MPTP was injected.Animal behavior detections were carried out on the 1 th,7th and 14th day after the last injection. After the last injection, mice were sacrificed and sections of midbrain nigra were gained for the detection of expression of autophagy specificity protein LC3 by Western Blot. Results Compared with MPTP model group, rapamycin could improve the general condition and behavioral manifestation of mice in pole test((14.89± 1.14) s vs (16.24±1.39) s,P<0.05;(15.18±1.36) s vs(17.93±1.11s),P<0.01),traction test((1.7±0.5) vs (1.2±0.4),P< 0.05;(1.5±0.5)vs (1.1±0.3),P<0.05) and open field test which contained total activity distance((5 875.3 ± 1148.9) cm vs (5 061.5±773.1) cm,P<0.05;(5 753.2± 1 106.7) cm vs (4 669.3±969.1) cm,P<0.01) and average speed((19.29±2.35) cm/s vs (16.47±3.01) cm/s,P<0.05;(18.71±2.71)cm/s vs (15.80±2.50) cm/s,P<0.01),while 3-MA aggravated behavioral deficits of mice in pole test(19.92± 1.61s vs 17.93± 1.11 s,P<0.05),and both total activity distance((3 879.7±575.0) cm vs (4 669.3±969.1) cm,P<0.05) and average speed((13.34± 1.87) cm/s vs (15.80±2.50) cm/s,P<0.05) in open field test were decreased. The results of Western Blot confirmed that rapamycin could increase the expression of LC3-Ⅱ,however 3-MA could re duce the expression of LC3-Ⅱ.Conclusion This study confirmed that rapamycin could alleviate behavioral symptoms of PD model mice and increase the level of LC3 in midbrain nigra, while 3-MA could exacerbate behavioral symptoms in PD model mice and decrease the level of LC3 in midbrain nigra. Thus it can be speculated that drugs which can regulate autophagy may be potential treatment protocols for PD.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyse the clinical feature of infective endocarditis (IE) in recent years. Methods Clinical profiles including age of onset, predisposing factor, clinical manifestation, blood culture and ultrasonic cardio gram (UCG) of 97 cases from Huashan Hospital in the recent 10 years were collected and analyzed retrospectively. Descriptive data were represented as mean ±standard deviation form.Positive rate was represented as percentage form.Fisher's exact test were used to determine two groups' comparison. Results The mean age of the population was (49±17)years.Seventy-three patients (75.3%) had background heart disease, the top 3 of which was rheumatic heart disease in 27 patients (27.8%),congenital heart disease in 23 patients (23.7%) and idiopathic mitral valve prolapse in 18 patients (18.6 %).The most common clinical manifestation were fever (99.0%),murmurs (95.9%) and anemia (84.5%).Sixty-six patients (68.0%) had positive result of blood cultures. Streptococcus viridans, which was found in 28 patients with native valve endocarditis (42.4 %),was still the most common pathogen.Staphylococcus, which was found in 18patients (27.3%),had an elevated ratio.Staphylococcus aureus was found in 10 patients (15.2%)and 3 of which were MRSA.Coagulase-negative staphylococcus was found in 8 patients (12.1 % ) and 2 of which were MRCNS. Drug-resistant bacteria was increased and pathogens were varied.Vegetations were found in 79 patients (81.4%) by UCG.ConclusionsClinical manifestation, predisposing factor and pathogen have changed in IE patients. Attaching importance to physical examination,multiple-time blood culture and UCG helps the diagnose of IE.
